Middle School

Paths to Success

Transitional Path

Students working towards the Transitional Path follow a modified curriculum aligned with the Florida Standards. In conjunction with academic skills, students also work towards developing their social skills and independent functioning skills during their time in middle school. It is the long-term goal of these students to transition to a more traditional high school setting after 8th grade to obtain a standard diploma. Students working on the Transitional Path participate in the Florida Standard Assessment during the Spring.

Pre-Vocational Path

Students working towards the Pre-Vocational Path are working on a modified curriculum aligned with the Florida Standards Access Points in the classroom. They too work on developing independent living skills and social skills all while gaining skills necessary to obtain future work skills and community participation. Students working on the Pre-Vocational path participate in the Florida Standards Alternate Assessment in the Spring.
